Picture This

Picture This is a collaborative photographic between myself and 6 young people from North Glasgow.

I wanted to specifically work with a group of young people to develop a body of work that explored personal narrative while looking at contemporary art photography themes. We discussed the work of many contemporary photographers such as Gregory Crewdson, Amy Stein, Larry Fink, Sam Taylor-Wood, Jeff Wall and Astrid Kruse Jensen.

I had the joy of working closely with Chrissie Miles of Glasgow Life to develop this short but creatively intense project with the young people.

The project was a very intense and creative 3 weeks. Working with ideas such as dislocation, vulnerability, celebrity culture as starting points for narrative the group brought in their own topics such as peer pressure and opinions on current news topics like acts of terrorism. The result is 6 powerful images which present issues that are very relevant to these young people.
